ANGEL TAVERAS STATEMENT ON ENDORSEMENT OF PROVIDENCE DEMOCRATIC COMMITTEE
PROVIDENCE - Providence Democratic Mayoral candidate Angel Taveras released the following statement tonight:
"As I campaign across our great city," said Angel Taveras, "people constantly remind me how critical this election is for the future of Providence. Will our city go backward -- to backroom deals and business as usual? Or will our city go forward with new leadership that creates jobs, strengthens our schools and runs an ethical and transparent government?"
"It's not surprising that the Democratic City Committee endorsed the longtime House Finance chairman tonight," said Taveras. "I have been and will continue working hard to win the endorsement of the great people of Providence on September 14th. That's the most important endorsement."
