RI Hospital UNAP Endorses Angel Taveras for Mayor of Providence

Providence, RI— Today, the members of the Rhode Island Hospital local of the United Nurses and Allied Professionals (UNAP) endorsed Angel Taveras for Mayor of Providence and urged city voters to support him on November 2nd.

"After meeting with Angel, our Executive Board voted unanimously to endorse Angel for Mayor because he shares our goals of improving the health of our City and the quality of life for working families in Providence," said Helene Macedo, RN, the local president.

Macedo added that, "As the largest UNAP local, with more than 2,200 members at RI Hospital, we know that it is very important to have a Mayor who supports our efforts to improve access to good jobs and quality health care for Providence residents and all Rhode Islanders."

"I am humbled and honored to earn the support of the health care professionals at Rhode Island Hospital," said Angel Taveras.  "Health care is one of the fastest-growing and most important sectors of our city's economy and I look forward to working hand-in-hand with UNAP to create good paying health care jobs for our city's workers."
