STEVEN COSTANTINO
ENDORSES ANGEL TAVERAS FOR MAYOR

PROVIDENCE - State Representative and former Democratic mayoral candidate Steven Costantino today endorsed Angel Taveras for Mayor of Providence and urged city voters to support him.

"Angel Taveras recognizes the primary responsibilities of our next mayor are to put residents back to work and grow our economy," said Costantino. "Angel's economic plan - focused on retaining and supporting existing businesses, recruiting new investments to the capital city and reforming the bureaucratic red tape that hinders so many businesses - is smart and sensible.  I am confident that Angel's leadership on the economy will move Providence forward and make our city even stronger."

"Providence is facing tough times and needs a mayor who will bring people together to find solutions to our city's toughest problems," he continued. "I have a great deal of respect for Angel and know he will be tireless in his pursuit to ensure our residents have pride in their city. It is imperative that all of us work together to solve the problems facing our city and make Providence great. I have offered my support and I urge the voters of Providence to give Angel Taveras their valued vote on Nov. 2."

“I am humbled and honored by the support of Steven Costantino, a longtime leader in our city's and our state's economy,” said Angel Taveras.  “Steven ran a tremendous race and offered a multitude of ideas on how best to improve our economy, improve city services, spark city development and strengthen our schools.  I look forward to his counsel and to working together to move Providence forward."
