JOHN LOMBARDI ENDORSES ANGEL TAVERAS FOR MAYOR

PROVIDENCE - City Councilman and former Democratic mayoral candidate John Lombardi today endorsed Angel Taveras for Mayor of Providence and urged city voters to support him. 

"The primary was a hard-fought battle and I commend Angel Taveras on his victory," said Lombardi. "From our economy to our schools to our roads, we need a Mayor who will bring people together to fix Providence. Angel Taveras will be that Mayor." 

"I ask that city voters join me in voting for Angel Taveras on November 2nd," Lombardi continued. "I have often said that Providence city government should be be more accessible, accountable, available, effective, reliable, responsive, and transparent to the needs of our community.  I am confident that Angel Taveras will do just that and I stand ready and willing to help him accomplish this goal."

“Councilman Lombardi's support means the world to me,” said Angel Taveras.  “As a former Council President and former Mayor, he has wisdom about city government that few have and I intend on seeking out John's counsel on the critical issues facing our great city.  I look forward to working hard and working together so that we move Providence forward."
